Full time- Part Time Barista

We’re looking for an experienced barista to join our small team at Saudade Bookshop & Café.

This is a hands-on barista role at our take-away focused coffee counter. We’re looking for someone who is confident behind the bar, friendly with customers, reliable, and comfortable working independently as well as alongside our team.

Availability

• Approximately 24–*32 hours per week*
• Weekend availability is essential

What You’ll Do

• Prepare espresso-based drinks consistently and efficiently
• Dial in espresso and adjust the grinder as needed
• Steam milk and prepare drinks to our standards
• Provide warm and friendly customer service
• Operate the POS and process customer orders
• Maintain a clean and organized coffee bar
• Clean and maintain the espresso machine and other café equipment
• Restock and keep the café ready for service
• Complete opening/closing duties as scheduled
• Occasionally assist with the retail side of the shop when needed

What We’re Looking For

• Previous barista experience
• Strong espresso and milk-steaming skills
• Comfortable dialing in espresso
• Reliable, punctual and able to work independently
• Friendly and confident with customers
• Able to work efficiently during busy periods
• Food Handler Certificate required
• Portuguese knowledge or background is an asset, but not required

Pay: $18.00-$19.00 per hour
